LookBook Catalogue!

After designing the Product Catalogue we designed the LookBook Catalogue, which we published last October. Now we're back with the latest version of this Lifestyle Catalogue, where we added some Ladies' Belts photos. 

We went back to The Hurlingham Club again, where we took the photos last year with our model Juan Ramón, a Spanish student of International Relations in London. Now, it was time of Joanne Bois, a French student of International Trade.

Fashion films: Advanced Style

Advanced Style is a documentary that shows the lives of seven unique New Yorkers who's eclectic unique style and vital spirit have guided their approach to aging. Based on Ari Seth Cohen's famed blog of the same name, this film paints intimate and colorful portraits of independent stylish women aged 62 to 95 who are challenging conventional ideas about beauty, aging and Western culture's increasing obsession with youth, all the while being thrust into new found fame.

Style: Dennis Hopper, icon of the week

We'd like to talk remember Dennis Hopper as an icon style. The great actor who was always capable of achieving the right look for each of his performances.  

Dennis Lee Hopper was an American actor, filmmaker, photographer and artist. As a young man, Hopper became interested in acting and eventually became a student of the Actors Studio. He made his first television appearance in 1954 and appeared in two films featuring James Dean, Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and Giant (1956). During the next ten years, Hopper appeared frequently on television in guest roles, and by the end of the 1960s had played supporting roles in several films.

Style: Serge Gainsbourg, style icon of the week

It's been a long time since we don't publish a post about style. But today, we're ready to retake this section of the blog and we'd like to talk about Serge Gainsbourg. 

Serge was a French singer, songwriter, pianist, film composer, poet, painter, screenwriter, writer, actor and director. Regarded as one of the most important figures in French popular music, he was renowned for his often provocative and scandalous releases, as well as his diverse artistic output, which embodied genres ranging from jazz, mambo, world, chanson, pop and yé-yé, to rock and roll, progressive rock, reggae, electronic, disco and new wave. Gainsbourg's varied musical style and individuality make him difficult to categorize although his legacy has been firmly established and he is often regarded as one of the world's most influential popular musicians.

We specially like this photo of Serge where he appears with three-piece pinstripe suit worn without a tie or socks, but with his favourite white Repetto dancing shoes.

Style: Katherine Hepburn, the icon of the week

Last week we spoke about Audrey Hepburn and today we'd like to talk about another lady with the same surname, Katherine Hepburn.

She was an American actress of film, stage, and television. Known for her headstrong independence and spirited personality, Hepburn was a leading lady in Hollywood for more than 60 years. She appeared in a range of genres, from screwball comedy to literary drama, and received four Academy Awards for Best Actress—a record for any performer. In 1999, Hepburn was named by the American Film Institute as the greatest female star in Hollywood history. 

While Audrey Hepburn was a very feminine woman, Katherine Hepburn had a more classical and masculine style, that suited her perfectly. 

We do like women with a masculine style. They don't just look different but they also show their strong character by feeling comfortable and beautiful in looks usually appropiate for men. The famous dinner jacket of Yves Saint Laurent was one of the first steps made in fashion to encourage women to start wearing clothes that would no longer be just for men. Nowadays, thanks to women with a lot of style like Katherine Hepburn, young and old ladies have the personality to wear the garçon style.

Style: Audrey Hepburn, the icon of the week

When we write about style, we always talk about men. Today, we'd like to start talking about women also in this section. There are a lot of well known ladies that had and still have a beautiful and admirable style. And you know that Hardy&Parsons also has a section of products for them. That's why we couldn't wait any longer to start talking about one of the most famous ladies in the world for her style (among other qualities): Audrey Hepburn.

Audrey Hepburn was a British actress and humanitarian. Recognised as both a film and fashion icon, Hepburn was active during Hollywood's Golden Age. She was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third greatest female screen legend in the history of American cinema and has been placed in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. She is regarded by many to be the most naturally beautiful woman of all time.

She had a truly feminine style that everybody loves. We particularly like this pictures where she uses thin belts to highlight her slender figure.

Style: Paul Newan, the icon of the week

Paul Newman was an American actor and film director well known for films such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He won numerous awards, including an Academy Award for best actor for his performance in the 1986 Martin Scorsese film The Color of Money.

But Newman wasn't good just acting. Paul Newman was an auto racing enthusiast and he also won several national championships as a driver in Sports Car Club of America road racing. 

It's his racing car style the one we like the most. We believe that someone has a great style if that person is able to show it in all kind of situations. Loving sports and showing so much style while practicing them, is something remarkable!

The italian shoes from De Tommaso brand remind us of Paul Newman driving cars. 

And we believe it matches perfectly with the Non Elasticated Webbing 004 belt from Hardy & Parsons.

Style: Steve McQueen, the icon of the week

Do you remember the famous The Towering Inferno movie? The main characters were played by Paul Newman (about whom we'll talk next week) and Steve McQueen, the great actor that  in 1974 became the highest-paid movie star in the world. 

We chose him as the style icon of this week, because he always knew how to look great, no matter the outfit he was wearing and the style he was showing. That's why we like him  wearing this suit...

Style: Clint Eastwood, the icon of the week

Today it is time to speak about Clint Eastwood's style. Clint Eastwood is a well known American film actor, director and producer. He rose to fame for playing spaghetti westerns during the 1960s. These roles, among others, have made him an enduring cultural icon of masculinity.

One of the most famous films where he took place was The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, where he played Blondie, The Good, a subdued, cocksure bounty hunter who teams with Tuco, and Angel Eyes temporarily, to find a buried gold.

We remember Clint Eastwood with the western style that characterized him in that movie:

This hat remind us the Full Grain Buffalo Hide hat of Jacaru, that combined with the Besford belt from Hardy&Parsons, would give us the perfect western look.

Lifestyle Catalogue!

After designing the Product Catalogue, we're ready to show you our new lifestyle catalogue. 

It all started when we went to The Hurlingham Club, a green oasis of tradition and international renown. Recognized throughout the world as one of the Britain's greatest private members's clubs, it retains its quintessentially English traditions and heritage. That's why we thought it would be the perfect place to take photos of our  belts, all of them handmade in England. 

We chose some of our bestsellers and, in the company of Juan Román Lloret, a Spanish young model, we  arrived at the club driving a magnificent white Porsche. Once in the club, we spent a lovely day taking photos all over the place, enjoying the views and the landscape and drinking a cup of tea in one of the most beautiful living rooms of the club.

Style: Robert De Niro, the icon of the week

Maintaining the tradition of selecting one icon of style every week, this time is the turn for Robert De Niro. American actor, director and producer, well known thanks to his role in The Godfather Part II, where he played the young Vito Corleone.

If you haven't watched the movie yet, don't postpone it any more. You'll find his role in this film amazing. We particularly like to see how Vito Corleone, who is a poor guy in the beginning, became a well know "capo" of the Italian mafia. 

A change, that we also can find in his dressing: at the beginning he appears with humble clothes, though he always had a great elegance. We particularly like the hat he's wearing in the following picture:

And we know he always had a great sense of elegance because when he became richer and more important, he wears different clothes without changing his very personal style, as you can see below:

If you like Robert De Niro's style, you have many different options to look like him. To be like Vito Corleone when he was younger wear the Stetson Hatteras:

Style: Marlon Brando, the icon of the week

We like Marlon Brando, and certainly we also like his style. That's why we've chosen him to be our second style icon. 

Marlon Brandon was an American screen and stage actor. He is widely regarded for bringing a gripping realism to film acting and is generally considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential actors of the 20th century.

And apart from being one of the best actors we have ever known, he was a style icon because no matter what he wore he always was able to give it his own style interpretation. From the military uniform in Apocalypse Now to the dinner jacket in The Goodfather or the camel coat in Last Tango in Paris. 

We specially like him in this scene of The Wild One. No one knows how to wear a hat like that and a leather jacket with that style!

We think Marlon would have liked this combination made with Stetson's Alpha hat, and Hardy&Parsons' Besford belt. Perfect to complete his look!
