In 1992 Professor Richard Davidson, one of the world's leading neuroscientists, met the Dalai Lama, who encouraged him to apply the same rigorous methods he used to study depression and anxiety to the study of compassion and kindness, those qualities cultivated by Tibetan meditation practice. The results of Davidson's studies at the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, are portrayed in Free the Mind as they are applied to treating PTSD in returning Iraqi vets and children with ADHD. The film poses two fundamental questions: What really is consciousness, and how does it manifest in the brain and body? And is it possible to physically change the brain solely through mental practices.

The Two Faces of January

1962. A glamorous American couple, the charismatic Chester MacFarland and his alluring younger wife Colette, arrive in Athens by boat via the Corinthian Canal. While sightseeing at the Acropolis they encounter Rydal, a young, Greek-speaking American who is working as a tour guide, scamming tourists on the side. Drawn to Colette's beauty and impressed by Chester's wealth and sophistication, Rydal gladly accepts their invitation to dinner. However, all is not as it seems with the MacFarlands and Chester's affable exterior hides darker secrets. When Rydal visits the couple at their exclusive hotel, Chester presses him to help move the body of a seemingly unconscious man who he claims attacked him. In the moment, Rydal agrees but as events take a more sinister turn he finds himself compromised and unable to pull himself free. His increasing infatuation with the vulnerable and responsive Colette gives rise to Chester's jealousy and paranoia, leading to a tense and dangerous battle of wits between the two men.

Special Webbing

As many people say, dogs are man's best friend. We also like dogs and we like to take care of them. That's why we use the best materials to design our products for dogs. 

You already know about the quality of the bridle leather. Now it's time to talk about the special webbing, we use to design the Choker, the most beautiful and practical dog lead ever. This webbing is made with 100% cotton, that makes it more comfortable for the dog and nice to use for the owner. 

This webbing is designed in special colours only available from Hardy&Parsons' dog products. Do you like them?

Now, we also have some new webbing which combines different colours. The leads you can see below are made with high visibility colours, so that we can see our dog and it can be seen in the darkness.

SHOWCASE IRELAND 2013

This year we've been traveling around Europe from fair to fair. We've already told you about our experiences in IWA and BETA, but there are some more... We also have been in SHOWCASE IRELAND 2013. 

Showcase is Ireland's Creative Expo, now in its 38th year. It's the chance to stock up on unique, designed products in fashion, knitwear, crafts, gifts and home accessories that will give the competitive edge.

Collaboration 2: Hardy&Parsons + Fur Feather & Fin

Continuing with the collaborations section, we’d like to show you another website where you can find some of our belts. It’s the turn of Fur Feather & Fin.

Established in 1978 by Angie and Sam Simonds, Fur Feather and Fin is a family run business based in the lovely setting of Charlton, West Sussex, home to the first Hunt in England. Their HQ is a beautiful old stable and barn at the base of Goodwood Racecourse on the South Downs.

They set up their business with a view to provide gifts for those who love countrylife and its many sporting pursuits. Their gifts are practical and useful although some can be fun and amusing too!

Their Country Sporting Gift Collection has been chosen carefully and tested thoroughly as they pride themselves on the good quality of the gifts they offer and we hope they will give a lot of pleasure to those who receive them.
